But it was a welcome relief when my close friend Uniyal decided it was finally time to start working on some music. Well, it was probably more a mutual decision than a one-sided one. I was chilling out after a particularly heavy lunch and decided to send my friend a random beat I made with a subtle synth line going at the back. Now, as musicians who frequently send each other stuff, I didn't expect to hear or get back much
Naming it 'Brush Karro Betaa!' as a working title (hindi for Brush, Son!), we continued working on the track for some time. Now that I had particularly started noticing the phich phich sounds which have an interesting story behind them (I did shitloads of modulations on what was simply the sound of some guy hitting a glass with a spoon), I asked Aishwarya (his first name is Aishwarya btw) to add a flanger like sound in the beginning which would sound like actual brushing. The track he sent me back was interesting to say the least.
After sending the track back to the awesome guitarist that is my friend and making some final mixing adjustments, we put it up on Soundcloud. It was fun.
And most of the times in life, you'll find having fun makes all the difference.
Time to have a heavy lunch now.
