Hello. I'm Antriksh Bali, an experimental music producer, software developer and sound designer from Delhi, India. A lot of my work walks the volatile line between software development and creation of audio, music and generative sound.
What fascinates me is not just how sound and noise can shift perceptions, mood and thought but how software development and audio are increasingly inter-dependent on each other for the creation of interactive, immersive experiences that resonate with people.
Art is transcending mediums. Established codes, strategies and paradigms consolidated over the past few decades are breaking down and new ones are building up. This calls for a radically different approach to music creation as well as software development for an audio artist of the 21st century.
This website is a peek into my approach as an audio software developer and music producer towards creating both, software and audio that keep in mind the developments in diverse fields like artificial intelligence and game development among many others. Audio and software in the future are heading towards a massive collision, and I intend to be in the thick and thin of it.
While my self-produced musical work is influenced by glitch art, modular synthesis, experimental photography and surrealism, I am also actively involved in scoring for film, writing music for video games and producing music for unconventional forms of media. I have a Master of Music degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games from the Valencia, Spain campus of Berklee College of Music. I currently work as a freelance sound designer / music composer for games at the same time, also doing work as a software developer for a variety of audio applications, software projects and interactive media.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, which is something that has helped me provide flight to my imagination. I believe that analytic and mathematical thought is just as important as creative and unstructured thinking. I am working on bridging these two radically different approaches towards thought.
I also record, produce, mix and master music for a number of artists that I closely collaborate and work with on a regular basis. Some of them are widely recognised electronic acts while others are indie band, singer-songwriters, record labels and experimental film-makers.
